Margaret and Chris’s Beacon Hill Boston engagement session felt like stepping into a classic Boston summer evening. From the charming brick sidewalks to the iconic brownstones tucked throughout the neighborhood, every corner of Beacon Hill gave us the perfect backdrop for a relaxed and joyful engagement session.

We started their session walking through the beautiful streets of Beacon Hill while soaking in the quiet charm that makes this neighborhood one of the most photographed places in Boston. The entire evening felt effortless. Margaret and Chris laughed constantly, embraced every little moment together, and fully leaned into simply enjoying the experience.

One of my favorite things about engagement sessions in Boston is how naturally the city tells a story. Beacon Hill has such a timeless atmosphere, especially during golden hour when the light reflects off the historic brick streets and black shutters.

Of course, we had to stop at Acorn Street during their engagement session. As one of the most iconic streets in Boston, Acorn Street always brings a romantic and classic New England feel to photos.
Margaret and Chris fit the setting perfectly. Their outfits paired beautifully with the historic architecture, and their energy made every photo feel candid and natural. Instead of overly posed moments, we focused on movement, conversation, and genuine reactions throughout the evening.
Walking hand in hand through the cobblestone streets created some of my favorite images from the session. The combination of Beacon Hill’s texture, warm tones, and historic charm always makes engagement photos feel timeless.

After exploring Beacon Hill, we made our way over to Boston Common for the second half of their engagement session. Boston Common is one of my favorite engagement photo locations in Boston because it offers such a different feel from Beacon Hill while still staying true to the city’s charm.
The park was full of soft evening light, greenery, and relaxed energy. Margaret and Chris brought their adorable dog along for this portion of the session, which made the evening even more fun and personal. Including your dog in engagement photos always adds such a meaningful layer to the session, especially when they are such a big part of your everyday life together.
Their dog absolutely stole the show for a few moments, and honestly, those are always some of the best memories during sessions like this.

Beacon Hill continues to be one of the best engagement session locations in Boston for couples who want a timeless, editorial, and romantic feel. Between the historic streets, ivy covered homes, gas lamps, brick sidewalks, and nearby access to Boston Common, there is so much variety within walking distance.
For couples planning engagement photos in Boston, Beacon Hill works beautifully in every season. Whether you want cozy fall tones, spring blooms, summer evenings, or snowy winter streets, this neighborhood always photographs beautifully.
Margaret and Chris’s engagement session perfectly captured what I love most about photographing couples in Boston. Love should feel fun, relaxed, and true to who you are together.
I already know their wedding day is going to be incredible.
