For couples searching for a historic estate wedding venue in Massachusetts, Maddie and Sam’s wedding at Floriana in Ipswich is such a beautiful example of everything a classic New England manor wedding can be. With its stately white exterior, black shutters, grand columns, manicured gardens, and elegant tented reception space, Floriana creates a wedding setting that feels timeless and distinctly New England.

Maddie and Sam’s entire day feels romantic, refined, and full of personality. From their quiet getting-ready moments inside the manor to editorial portraits throughout the gardens and an energetic night on the dance floor, every part of their wedding offers something completely different to photograph.
One of my favorite things about photographing a Floriana wedding in Ipswich is the variety available without ever needing to leave the property. Inside the estate, beautiful architectural details and thoughtfully designed rooms create an incredible backdrop for getting-ready photographs.
The soft blue room where Maddie gets ready is especially gorgeous. The painted details, hardwood floors, natural light, and antique-inspired elements pair perfectly with her wedding dress, shoes, and stationery. We use the space for bridal details, black-and-white getting-ready photographs, and some more editorial bridal portraits before the day begins.
Sam keeps things classic in a black tuxedo, which photographs perfectly against the clean, historic architecture of the manor.

Once outside, Floriana becomes an entirely different setting. The white manor provides a timeless backdrop for wedding party and family photographs, while the gardens and sculpted hedges allow us to create portraits that feel softer and more romantic.
Some of my favorite images of Maddie and Sam are taken within the greenery, where Maddie’s dramatic lace veil stretches across the lawn. Mixing these photographs with black-and-white imagery gives their gallery an almost old-world New England estate feeling while still keeping everything modern and editorial.
From a photographer’s perspective, this variety is one of Floriana’s biggest advantages. Couples can have getting-ready photographs, family portraits, wedding party photos, romantic portraits, and their reception all within the same property. Less travel on a wedding day means more time for photographs—and more time actually enjoying the celebration.

Floriana’s tented reception space is another huge benefit for couples dreaming of an outdoor-inspired New England wedding. It offers the atmosphere of an estate garden reception while still creating a beautiful, defined space for dinner, cake cutting, and dancing.
As evening arrives, the tent takes on an entirely different personality. Draped fabric and rows of glowing string lights create a warm atmosphere overhead, while the surrounding estate keeps the reception connected to the historic setting.
I especially love the photographic transition this creates in Maddie and Sam’s gallery. The bright, polished imagery from earlier in the day gradually gives way to direct flash, movement, dancing, and completely candid moments. Their reception is packed with energy, and their guests are clearly ready to celebrate.
The result is the best of both worlds: a historic Massachusetts manor wedding venue with a tented reception, allowing couples to have the classic architecture and gardens they love without sacrificing an incredible party space.

Beyond the beautiful setting, Maddie and Sam are what make this day so special. There is such an effortless comfort between the two of them. Their portraits feel intimate without feeling overly posed, and throughout the day you can see how naturally they gravitate toward one another.
That quiet romance eventually turns into a seriously fun celebration. From cake cutting beneath the tent lights to a packed dance floor surrounded by their closest friends and family, their wedding ends with exactly the kind of joyful chaos I love photographing.
For couples searching for manor wedding venues in New England, estate wedding venues in Massachusetts, tented wedding venues on the North Shore, or historic wedding venues near Boston, Floriana in Ipswich offers an incredible combination of architecture, gardens, portrait locations, and a beautiful tented reception space.
Maddie and Sam’s wedding shows exactly why: timeless New England scenery, editorial portraits, genuine emotion, and one unforgettable party—all in one gorgeous estate.
